STEPHANIE L. DOBSON joined forces with Marty R. Kindrachuk in September 2006 upon her relocation to Lloydminster, Alberta from Richmond, British Columbia. She practices law in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.
She advises her clients on issues such as divorce, family law, parenting rights and obligations, child support, spousal support, division of property, and adoptions. Stephanie is formally trained in, and actively promotes, Collaborative Family Law and Family Mediation as valuable methods to resolve family disputes while avoiding court.
Stephanie is also an educator, focusing on teaching parents about the legal aspects of separation and divorce (Alberta Justice’s Parenting After Separation course). She also teaches lawyers and other audiences on such topics as Basic Mediation Training, and Interest-Based Negotiations.
As community service is an integral part of Stephanie’s life, she is an active member of the Lloydminster Rotary Club and was part of a team of Rotarians who facilitated the establishment of the Rotaract Club of Lloydminster (Rotary for ages 18-30). Stephanie is also a Board Member of the Lloydminster Chamber of Commerce and is Vice-Chair of the Board of the Lloydminster Interval Home Society (women’s shelter).
Stephanie enjoys being an active member in various organizations which promote alternatives to court to resolve family disputes. She is a member of International Association of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), Association of Collaborative Lawyers of Alberta (Edmonton & Northeast Area), Collaborative Lawyers of Saskatchewan, Inc., Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC), Family Mediation Canada (FMC), and Alberta Family Mediation Society (AFMS). She also serves on the Board of Directors of the Association of Collaborative Lawyers of Alberta.
She is a member of the Canadian Bar Association – Alberta North & South as well as Saskatchewan Branches and is a member of 3 law societies – Alberta (active), Saskatchewan (active), and British Columbia (inactive).
